Hazel Grace Lancaster 

A sixteen year old girl that is diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. Hazel does not sit around feeling sorry about herself and is not self pity. She finishes high school early and is now attending college classes. Hazel is very readerly. Hazel doesn't care about whats cool, she just knows what she likes. She is true to herself. Her love for Augustus is out of this world. 

 

 Augustus 'Gus' Waters

 The guy who uses a cigarette in his mouth as a metaphor. Augustus is a formal basketball player who lost his right leg due to osteosarcoma. He has good looks and has confidence. Augustus is determined to leave a mark on everything and everyone he encounters with. He is the one who makes things happen. Gus is the type of guy that lives his live to the fullest. His love for Hazel is the love that could not be put into words.

Isaac 

Isaac is just a really close friend to Augustus and Hazel that lost his vision. He is the one who introduced Augustus and Hazel to each other. He falls in love with a girl, Monica. He then get his heart broken by her. He is the one who told Hazel about Augustus letter to van Houten. If it wasn't for Isaac, Augustus and Hazel would have never had this romance.
